Rohingya crisis: 4 more floating bodies found

Four dead bodies of Rohingya refugees were recovered in Naf River and the Bay of Bengal near Cox's Bazar today.

A Rohingya child and a woman were found floating in the sea near Shah Porir Dwip around noon, Md Mainuddin Khan, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, told our local correspondent.

Earlier, a Rohingya man and a woman were found dead floating on the Naf River in Nayapara village under Sabrang union of the upazila around 8:00am this morning, the OC said.

With these, the death toll from Rohingya boat capsize incidents rose to 91.

On the night of September 12, a boat carrying the Rohingyas, who tried to enter Bangladesh to escape persecution in Myanmar, capsized in Naf River.

Up to 400,000 Rohingya have fled Myanmar for Bangladesh since August 25, with thousands more arriving every day, the Unicef said on Thursday.

On their way across the Bay of Bengal, incidents of boat capsize have taken on multiple occasions including the latest one.
