Mashrafe and Tamim climb the ICC ODI rankings

There have been plenty of movements in the ICC ODI rankings and Bangladesh’s Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Tamim Iqbal have moved up the ladder after the conclusion of the ICC Champions Trophy in England.

Bangladesh’s inspirational captain Mashrafe Mortaza moved up three places to 15th spot in the ICC ODI bowler’s rankings. Although not amongst the wickets –only grabbing two, Mashrafe was the most economical among the Bangladesh bowlers in the Champions Trophy 2017. His point tally stands at 601 points.

Tamim Iqbal moved up one place to 16th in the ICC ODI rankings for batsmen. The classy left-hander had a significant Champions Trophy where he scored 128 against England in the first game and followed it up with a brave 95 against Australia when wickets were tumbling at the other end.

He also played a brilliant knock of 70 runs in the semfinal against India, where Bangladesh innings faltered during the middle overs.

Shakib Al Hasan remains the best all rounder in the ICC ODI rankings. His point tally of 353 sees him retain the top spot. He however dropped to 20th moving down three places in the rankings for bowlers.

Shakib along with Mahmudullah Riyad were instrumental to Bangladesh getting through to the semifinals when they put on a fifth wicket partnership of 224 against New Zealand.
