Rescue operation suspended for the night

The rescue operation by the fire service at the Siddikbazar blast site in Dhaka's Gulistan has been postponed for tonight.

As the building is risky and working inside it is not safe, the rescue operation will resume tomorrow morning, Dinomoni Sharma, deputy director (Dhaka) of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence, told The Daily Star.

They will, however, keep a 20-member rescue team stand-by at the spot, he said.
