Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today urged the VIPs not to travel on the wrong side of the highways during the Eid holidays that began on July 5.

“Big leaders or influential, whoever you are, I would request all of you to take the right side of the road for the sake of public interest,” Obaidul Quader told journalists at his Secretariat office in the morning.

“When VIPs take the wrong side of a road, we face great trouble as we fail to control traffic congestion,” the minister said quoting allegations made by police mostly.

He also informed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate Dhaka-Chittagong and Joydebpur-Mymensingh four-lane highways on July 2 before the Eid rush begins.
