Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate Dhaka-Chittagong and Joydebpur-Mymensingh four-lane highways on July 2, the road transport and bridges minister said today.
Obaidul Quader disclosed this while inaugurating the Mobile One-stop Motorcycle Registration programme of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority marking International Civil Service Day in the morning.
The Mobile One-stop Motorcycle Registration programme will extend across the country in phases later.
The two highways will be completed three months ahead of the stipulated time, said the minister, adding that the highways are the prime minister’s Eid gifts for the country people.
The minister expects a risk-free Eid journey as most of the highways are in better condition this time.
