The minister further said that the medical expenses of all injured journalists in Dhaka have been covered, according to Prothom Alo.

Journalists of different print and electronic media on August 7 gave a 72-hour ultimatum to the government to arrest those who attacked their colleagues during the students' movement for road safety.

Several journalists were attacked while covering the students’ protest for safer roads from July 29 till August 7.

“We have discussed with the home minister for tough punishment against the perpetrators. We agree with the demands of the journalists and that is why we will quickly arrest the attackers and punish them,” Inu was quoted as saying according to the Bangla daily.

He made the comments while he was speaking to journalists during the inauguration of the National Fruit and Plant Fair at Bheramara upazila of Kushtia this morning.
