People pay tributes to Muhith

People from all walks of life paid tributes to former finance minister AMA Muhith  at central Shaheed Minar today.

The body of the Awami League advisory council member  was taken to the Shaheed Minar around 12pm where tributes were paid on behalf of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader paid tributes on behalf of the party.

Members of various political, social and cultural organisations were among the people who paid homage to Muhith.

From the Shaheed Minar, the body was taken to Dhaka University mosque where his second janaza was held after Zohr prayer.

Earlier around 10:45am, his first namaz-e-janaza was held at Gulshan Azad Mosque in Dhaka.

Later, his body will be taken to Sylhet for burial.

Muhith passed in the early hours of today (April 30, 2022) at United Hospital  at the age of 88.
