Hasanuzzaman made returning officer of Ctg zila parishad polls

The Election Commission (EC) has appointed Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, regional election officer of Chattogram, as returning officer of Chattogram zila parishad elections after the commission removed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Mominur Rahman from same post.

The EC issued a notification, signed by Deputy Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Atiar Rahman, this afternoon (September 18, 2022).

Earlier in the day, the EC decided to remove Md Mominur Rahman from the duty of returning officer of Chattogram Zila Parishad elections.

Election Commissioner Rasheda Sultana told this to reporters while replying to a query at her office in the capital's Agargaon area today.

She also said that punitive action will be taken against him after investigation.

The decision was taken against the DC for his "biased behaviour" as returning officer, said Rasheda Sultana.
