BNP would have benefited from contesting the RCC polls: Khairuzzaman

AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, the Awami League's mayoral candidate in the Rajshahi City Corporation polls, said it would have been beneficial for the BNP if they had participated in the elections.

"If the BNP had participated in the elections, they would have gained insight into the public opinion regarding their support," he told reporters after casting his vote at the Rahshahi Satellite Town High School polling centre at 9:25am.

He further mentioned that he anticipated an increase in voter turnout later in the day.

Liton expressed his satisfaction with the overall voting conditions and stated that he would accept the results, irrespective of the outcome.
