Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov arrives in Dhaka

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Dhaka today on a two-day visit.

Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Abdul Momen received his Russian counterpart with a bouquet of flowers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 06:17pm.

The foreign ministers of both countries will hold an official meeting this evening. Lavrov will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina tomorrow before flying to New Delhi to attend the G20 summit.

The Russian FM was scheduled to visit Dhaka in November last year but had to cancel it because of his schedule changes.

He flew to Dhaka after attending the East Asia Summit in Jakarta today.
