A day before Sultana Jasmine's death, Enamul Haque, director, local government at the office of Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner, filed a case under DSA with Rajpara Police Station in Rajshahi city.

Sultana was the second accused in the case while the prime accused was Al Amin, 32, of Chandpur.

They were accused of hacking Enamul's Facebook ID and using his ID to con people by luring them with jobs.

The Daily Star obtained a copy of the case document that said Enamul was present when a Rab-5 patrol team, led by DAD Md Masud, arrested Sultana.

Enamul in the case said he learnt from his assistant clerk Md Jamal that the accused swindled some persons in front of his office in Rajshahi city on March 19.

But Sultana's colleagues told The Daily Star that she was at work that day.

In the case, Enamul stated that he went to Naogaon on Wednesday on an official tour.

On his way, he met the Rab-5 patrol team at the Naogaon Bus Stand and informed them that his Facebook ID was being used to swindle people.

Talking to The Daily Star at his office on Monday, Enamul claimed that he also informed the Rab team that one Sheikh Arif of Barishal told him about Sultana's bank account in which Arif was asked to make a payment for a government job.

The Rab team took him with them and located Sultana at Muktir Mor in the town.

Enamul in the case also stated that Rab members interrogated Sultana there and she admitted before him, the Rab team, and locals that she was involved in swindling people.

He claimed that Rab seized her smartphone in which evidence of transactions in her Sonali bank account was found.

Although the case stated that Sultana was interrogated by Rab members at Muktir Mor, her family members said, she was picked up from the spot and taken to an unknown location and tortured there.

"We heard about her arrest between 9:30am and 10:00am. Then we checked with the police, and detectives and looked for her for several hours. We found her at the Naogaon hospital," said her maternal uncle Nazmul Haque Montu.

When Montu went to the hospital to see her around noon, he saw two female Rab members on both sides of her bed. He claimed that Rab men in plainclothes were surrounding her when she was unconscious and in difficulty breathing.

"It was frightening to see the two Rab members in their black attires around her hospital bed. She opened her eyes once but fainted soon after seeing the Rab members," Montu said while talking to a group of newsmen.

Montu had asked the two Rab members why they were beside her hospital bed. They told him to talk to their superiors.

"I left the hospital a few moments later as I did not dare stay there alone," he said.
