Md Akash was among the four to five key persons who planned the much-talked-about Tk 11.25 crore heist in Dhaka's Turag area on Thursday.

He took a big chunk of the looted money, went straight to Khulna and bought a Noah microbus, said DB officials after arresting him in the district yesterday.

"Akash bought the microbus with Tk 29 lakh," an additional deputy commissioner of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police told The Daily Star today.

He, however, did not elaborate how much money Akash got as his share after the robbery. Detectives are trying to seized the microbus.

The sensational robbery took place in Turag area around 7:15am on Thursday when officials of Money Plant Link Private Ltd, the firm hired for transporting the money to DBBL ATMs, were heading towards Savar EPZ in a microbus from Mirpur DOHS, with Tk 11.25 crore in four trunks.

Harun Or Rashid, chief of detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, also at a press briefing today said one of the robbers bought a microbus while some others robbers lent a portion of the money to their relatives and trusted persons.
