Rani Mukerji's latest film, "Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway", has had a bumper opening in Norway, breaking the records of Shah Rukh Khan starrers, "Pathaan" and "Raees", in the country.

As the film is primarily set in Norway, the audience there have been eager to learn more about the film's story. As a result of their curiosity, and because Norway is portrayed as a character in the film, audiences flocked to theaters like never before.

Rani's film earned Rs 58 lakh in its first weekend, with a 4.8k occupancy in just three days. The previous record was held by SRK's "Raees", with a 4.7k occupancy. The film also beat the 4.1k occupancy by "Pathaan" in Norway.

"Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway" made USD 600,000 in the international market and is expected to perform even better in the coming days. In terms of domestic revenue, the film grossed more than Rs 12 crore in India.

After receiving much love for this film, Rani has finally responded to the plaudits. Speaking to PinkVilla, the actress said, "I'm glad 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' is showing us that a content film can be a theatrical film in a post-pandemic world, I believe that as an industry, we should focus on making films that touch people's hearts rather than worrying about which genres will work on the big screen and which will not."

"Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway" also stars Anirban Bhattacharya and Jim Sarbh in the lead roles.
