Siam Ahmed won his first National Film Award for his performance in Chayanika Chowdhury's debut directorial film "Bishwoshundori", in 2020. The actor has received the honour for the second time in the Best Actor category in 2021, for his performance in Roni Bhowmik's "Mridha Bonam Mridha".

The actor shared his emotions with The Daily Star on winning the National Film Award two times in a row.

How are you feeling at the moment?

Recognitions inspire an artiste to work even harder. I am grateful to my family, colleagues, and the entire fraternity for their huge support. It is indeed a matter of great honour to have received the award from the hands of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Anything else you want to share on winning the prize?

We shot the film in 18 days, and those moments are very precious to us, as we created a strong bond with the entire team, and we became a family. I am thankful to the director Roni Bhowmik, scriptwriter Raihan Khan and my co-artiste, Nova Firoze. I would be happier if Tariq Anam Khan sir, who played my father in the film would have received an award for his performance as well. I believe that he will be proud and happy to see his son winning this.

What was the best moment while receiving the National award?

When I received the award for the first time, our son was in his mother's womb. The fact that my son could witness me bring home the award is the best thing about this time.

What are your upcoming projects?

I am in the talks with some new projects both for the silver screen and OTT. "Antorjal", the Dipankar Dipon directorial film is expected to release this Eid-ul-Fitr.
