Jaya Ahsan remembers Satyajit Ray on his birthday  

Today marks the 102nd birthday of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. His contributions to Bengali cinema are unparalleled. Many Bengali film artistes and celebrities are paying tribute to him in various ways today. 

On the occasion of his birthday, actress Jaya Ahsan posted a status on her Facebook account paying tribute to Ray's contribution to our Bengali film industry. 

"In the land of dwarves, he stood high above everyone else. He himself became so ahead of his time that he made everyone look small in front of him. His writing was a world of joy during my teenage years. However, when I grew up, his films made me more open-minded," Jaya Ahsan wrote.

"He made films in a broken corner of the world and took our Bengali cinema to a global platform. Today is his 102nd birthday. We are still coming back to his films. I feel like we have to come back to his films even after 100 years," she added.
