Renowned artistes pay tribute to Gazi Mazharul Anwar

Gazi Mazharul Anwar, the creator of many timeless hits, passed away on September 4. In memory of the legend, a memorial meeting was organised at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) today in the afternoon.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. Also present were Zohra Gazi, Gazi Mazharul Anwar's wife, Liaquat Ali Lucky, the DG of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Liton Adhikary Rintu, President of the Lyricists Association of Bangladesh, and renowned lyricist, Mohammad Rafiquzzaman, among many other noted personalities.

The event was jointly organised by Lyricists Association of Bangladesh and BSA.

Among the renowned singers, lyricists, composers and instrumentalists of the country, Abida Sultana, Rafiqul Alam, Khurshid Alam, Sheikh Sadi Khan, Kumar Bishwajit, Moniruzzaman Monir, Nakib Khan, Foad Nasser Babu, Gazi Abdul Hakim, Monir Khan, Robi Chowdhuri, Shahidullah Farazi, Asif Iqbal, Zulfiqer Russell and Gazi Mazharul Anwar's children, Upal and Dithi, among many others.
