"Close Up One" famed singer Muhin Khan recently won the National Film Award for his song in the film "Poddapuran". He was the runner-up on the show in 2006. The singer has since been active in the music scene of Bangladesh.

This is Muhin's first National Film Award. In a casual interview with The Daily Star, the musician revealed his experience, joy and plans.

How do you and your family feel after receiving the National Film Award?

The feeling of receiving such a prestigious award is indescribable. Receiving such an honour has inspired me to work harder for my craft, to get better. My family and I were a bit anxious following the announcements but it instantly went away the moment we heard my name. Hearing my father congratulate me has been one of the highest points of this experience. It was definitely the best moment for me.

You are the first Close Up One participant to win the National Film Award, tell us a bit about it.

I have a wonderful relationship with my Close Up One peers. All of them wished me well and have posted their encouragements on social media. I am extremely grateful from the immense loved I have received from my friends.

Tell us a bit about your song on "Poddapuran".

The song was written by Jamal Hossian, while the voice and music direction was mine. Its amongst my most favourite songs. We made the song for Rashid Polash's directorial film.

What are you busy with now?

I have dedicated myself to making new music, this year I aim to release at least 50 songs. In the meantime, I will be uploading new music on my YouTube channel.
