Pastor attack: Shibir man held

Obaidul Islam, 28, hailing from Aorapara village of Ishwardi upazila in the district was arrested from his house this morning, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting Biman Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Ishwardi Police Station.
“He is an active Shibir member, and is undergoing questioning,” said Das.

Luke Sarkar, 52, pastor of Faith Bible Church in the upazila, was attacked by three unidentified youths at his house yesterday. However, Sarkar managed to escape with a few minor injuries.
Sarkar later received treatment at Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex and Pabna General Hospital.
