MC College gang-rape: 2 accused arrested from Habiganj

Law enforcers have arrested two persons accused in the case filed over the gang-rape of a woman on Friday at Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet.

One of the arrestees, Rabiul Islam, was held by the Detective Branch of Police in Habiganj's Nabiganj upazila around 10:00pm, Anwar Hossain, additional superintendent of police in Habiganj, told The Daily Star.

The other accused, Shah Mahbubur Rahman Roni, was arrested from Habiganj Sadar upazila around 9:00pm, said Additional SP Obaine, also media officer of Rab-9.

Earlier today, two others were arrested in connection with the case. They are the prime suspect in the case Saifur Rahman, and another accused Arjun Lasker.

The husband of the victim filed the case on Friday night with Shah Poran Police Station accusing Saifur Rahman (28), Shah Mahbubur Rahman Roni (25), Arjun Lasker (25), Mahfuzur Rahman Masum (25), Tarek Ahmed (28), Rabiul Islam (25), and 2-3 unnamed men.
