US-Bangla cabin crew Nabila’s daughter in police custody

The two and a half years old daughter of one of the cabin crews killed in a tragic plane crash in Nepal is now in the custody of Uttara West Police Station in Dhaka.

Inaya Imam Hiya, the daughter of Nabila Farhin, a crew of US-Bangla Airlines that crashed in Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport yesterday, was reported missing after the plane crash, Bangla daily ProthomAlo reports quoting Sub-Inspector Arifuzzaman of the police station.

“We have the kid in our custody,” he said adding, the little girl will be handed over to her family.

At least 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, were killed when the US-Bangla flight from Dhaka crashed in Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport yesterday. Two more passengers of the aircraft succumbed to their injuries today.

Rajkumer Chhetri, general manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, today told The Daily Star that all four cabin crew members including Nabila,pilot Abid Sultan and co-pilot Prithula died in the plane crash.

Inaya’s grandmother Fatema Hossain told the daily that they rushed to Nabila’s residence being informed of the plane crash and found her residence locked from outside.

After failing to know the whereabouts of the child, they filed a missing diary to Uttara West Police Station.

Later, police informed them that they have found the kid but the elderly woman could not elucidate how the kid was found, Fatema said.

Hiya’s Uncle Bablu has gone to Nepal to receive Nabila’s body. Her father Anan Ahmed lives abroad.
