Selina Hayat Ivy wins the much-talked-about Narayanganj City Corporation election with a margin of 79, 567 votes. She bags gets 1, 75, 611 votes while BNP nominee Shakhawat Hossain gets 96, 044 votes, Returning Officer Nuruzzaman Talukdar announces.

11:05pm:

Ivy bags 1,70,100 votes  votes while her nearest contestant BNP nominee Shakhawat gets 92,879 votes in 169 polling centres, says Returning Officer Nuruzzaman Talukdar. 

10:28pm:

Ivy bags 1, 63,738 votes while her nearest contestant BNP nominee Shakhawat gets 89, 760 votes in 164 polling centres, says Returning Officer Nuruzzaman Talukdar. 

9:55pm:

Ivy bags 93,457 votes while her nearest contestant BNP nominee Shakhawat gets 54,852 votes in 102 polling centres, says Returning Officer Nuruzzaman Talukdar. 

9:00pm:

Ivy bags 42,926 votes while her nearest contestant BNP nominee Shakhawat gets 25,627 votes in 50 polling centres, says Returning Officer Nuruzzaman Talukdar. 

4:50pm:

Election held in a free, fair and credible manner, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed tells journalists.

4:29pm:

Election officers counting votes through 174 voting centres.

4:00pm:

NCC polls end peacefully.

Narayanganj Awami League lawmaker Shamim Osman casts his vote at Narayanganj Bar Academy polling centre.

Fairest election, a model in history, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Md Kaisarul Islam, who is visiting the voting centres in Narayanganj, says.

Out of 3,537 votes, 1,102 were cast at Bondor Shishu Niketon polling centre under Ward no. 22, says Judisthir Chandra Baray, presiding officer.

Over 500 of the designated 1,861 votes cast in Srama Kalyan voting centre in Bandar area, Presiding Officer Kamrul Islam says. Voting going on there peacefully and polling agents of both Awami League and BNP seen there.

Sumona, 31, walks away from voting at Govt MW College seeing a big queue of female voters. She says, she will come back to vote in the afternoon.

At Islamia Fazil Madrassa in Bandar area, 476 votes cast until 10:00am out of 2,288 designated voters, says Presiding Officer Md Mainuddin.

Revolutionary Workers’ Party mayor candidate Mahbubur Rahman Ismail casts his vote at Government Women’s College polling centre.
