In observance of the day, floral wreath were placed at the Shaheed Bedi, the scythe and hammer sculpture that reminds of labour worker rights at the collapse site.

Hundreds of people including family and relatives of the victims gathered in front of the Shaheed Bedi at Savar, at the outskirts of the capital, since 7:00am, reports our Savar correspondent.

The nine-storied Rana Plaza that housed a number of readymade garment factories collapsed on April 24, 2013, killing over 1,130 people – mostly garment workers – and injuring thousands.

Later two cases were filed in connection with the incident, either of which are yet to see any pace.
