Two persons -- son of a police officer and a businessman-- who have been missing from the capital for a few days were found today.

Omar Faruque, 34, an air-conditioner trader, who went missing from Mogbazar on Sunday, was found alive near Postogola Bridge in Keraniganj this evening.

Faruque, a former leader of Chittagong University unit Chhatra League, was blindfolded and his hands and legs were tied up, said his brother Sarwar Jahan Mamun.

Mamun said unknown people whisked his brother into a microbus from Mogbazar area on that day when he was on his way home. The abductors took Tk 11 lakh he had with and dropped him off this evening.

Meanwhile, Mazharul Islam Aronno, 13, son of police sub-inspector Abdul Motalib Bhuiyan, returned home today.

Motalib said his son went to his friend’s house in Narayanganj on Saturday, fearing scolding from parents as he did not attend coaching classes.

He went to the house of another friend near Basabo from where his parents took him home.
