Zimbabwe won by 5 wickets with 38 balls remaining in their must-win match against United Arab Emirates at Sylhet stadium today.

With a pinch-hitting slog performance, United Arab Emirates put a score of 116 runs for Zimbabwe, losing nine wickets, to chase in a first round match of ‘Group B’ of World T20.

State-run Bangladesh Television and private channel Maasranga TV telecasted the match live.

Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and sent UAE to bat first.

Swapnil Patil scored 30 runs off 33 deliveries, for UAE, decorated with five boundaries, while, skipper Khurram Khan added 26 runs to the board.

Tailender Kamran Sazzad scored a windy 21 off only 13 balls with two massive over-boundaries.

Zimbabwean bowlers – Sean Williams, Tendai Chatara and Sikandar Raza -- picked up 3, 2 and 2 wickets respectively.
