Secondary and higher secondary schools will resume in-person classes on all subjects from March 15, Education Minister Dipu Moni said today.

She said this while addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the inauguration of Lila Nag Bhaban of Sher-e-Bangla Girls' College at Shere Bangla Balika Mahavidyalaya at Tikatuli in the capital today.

She said the number of examinations will be reduced once the new curriculum is introduced.

"Students' fear of exams will go away. You can get out of the test-based assessment. There will be a daily reading evaluation every day. There will be limited examinations at the end of the year, but the final assessment will be done by adjusting the evaluation throughout the year," said the minister.

Educational institutions were closed for almost two years due to the Covid-19.  Last year, on September 12, direct classroom teaching in educational institutions began.

The classroom teaching started in a limited manner with maintaining hygiene guidelines, but in two phases, the teaching of classes in the educational institutions was stopped till February 21.

From February 22, classroom teaching began in a limited manner to establish secondary and higher secondary level education.

From March 2, the classes at the primary level started on a limited scale.
