SUST student's murder: Peers protest on campus, Sylhet-Sunamganj highway blocked

Hundreds of students at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) are protesting the murder of Bulbul Ahmed who was stabbed to death on the campus yesterday evening (July 25, 2022).

The students blocked the Sylhet-Sunamganj highway in front of the campus and were contuining with their protest till the filing of this report at 12:30 am today (July 26, 2022), reports our Sylhet correspondent.

Bulbul was found stabbed at around 7: 00 pm at the Gazi Kalur Tila on the campus. After being taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.

In protest of the murder, students brought out a procession on the campus around 11:00 pm and later gathered in front of the administrative building where the proctorial committee tried to control their agitation.

Earlier around 10 pm, SUST Vice Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed visited the hospital. While talking to the media there, he demanded justice for the murder citing it as a heinous crime.
