JU teachers protest SUST VC’s ‘offensive remarks’ on female students

The Jahangirnagar University Teachers' Association today protested against the Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed, for making "offensive remarks" about female students of JU.

The remarks made by Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed about JU's female students were highly insulting and disrespectful, according to a statement signed by Prof Dr Layek Sajjad Endellah, president of the teachers' association, and Prof Dr Md Motahar Hossain, its general secretary.

The statement said, "We strongly protest and express our discontent with the offensive remarks."

"We hope he will publicly apologise for his mistake and withdraw the indecent remarks," the statement added.
