CU likely to reopen on October 20 if students get first shot of Covid-19 vaccine

The Chittagong University campus is likely to reopen on October 20, subject to inoculation of all students with the first jabs of Covid-19 vaccine.

The possible date was discussed at the 534th syndicate meeting held at the Vice-Chancellor's Office this noon which was presided over by CU VC Prof Shireen Akhter, Prof SM Monirul Hasan, acting registrar of the university confirmed to The Daily Star tonight.

The registrar said 31 percent of their students have already received both jabs of Covid-19 vaccine while 70 percent received their first jabs.

"We hope the rest of the students will get their first jabs in time," he said, adding that if we could confirm about all of the students first jabs inoculation, there is possibility to reopen the university on October 20.
