Sonia to file nomination from Rae Bareli tomorrow

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi will file her nomination for the Rae Bareli parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow. Sonia, who has been representing the seat since 2004, will contest against Dinesh Pratap Singh who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party after leaving the Congress. The Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party, which have entered into an alliance with each other but kept the Congress out of it, have, however, decided not to put up any candidate against Sonia in Rae Bareli where voting will be held on May 6 in the fifth phase of the staggered general election. Sonia had won the seat in 2004, 2006 (bypolls), 2009 and 2014.
