Newly appointed High Commissioner of India Vikram Kumar Doraiswami today said Bangladesh will get top priority in the trial, distribution, delivery and partial co-production of a potential Indian Covid-19 vaccine.

He made the assurance during a meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam at the foreign ministry in Dhaka, said a press release.

During the meeting, the state minister recalled the decision of the last Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) over holding the virtual summit between the two prime ministers of Bangladesh and India.

The high commissioner assured that the upcoming virtual summit is not being seen as a substitute for an in person visit by Prime Minister Modi, but rather will be a complementary one.
