A youth was stabbed to death following a fight in south-west London early today.

The victim, 29, died on the spot after he was stabbed at the junction of Gowan Avenue and Munster Road in Fulham, in the same street where TV presenter Jill Dando was murdered by being shot in the head on the doorstep of her house in 1999 aged 37, reports BBC.

The incident took place around 0030 GMT, neighbours said, adding that they had heard an argument.

Police said they were trying to make to contact the victim’s family, adding that no arrests have been made yet, reports BBC.

“We are appealing for information from those who were out and about in the area at the time of the attack and saw anything of note,” said Detective Chief Inspector Glen Lloyd.

“My team is particularly keen to trace a light skinned black male, approximately 6ft tall who was seen near the scene at the time,” he added.

The victim was described as a “good and big man” by a friend, who said seeking anonymity “At the age of 29, you don’t do silly things like this, knife crimes,” according to the BBC report.
