Powerful explosion kills 19 in Tehran

A powerful explosion at a clinic in northern Tehran killed at least 19 people yesterday, Iran's semi-official ISNA news agency reported. The blast at Sina At'har health centre caused damage to buildings in the vicinity. Fifteen of the dead were women, state television said. Authorities said the explosion occurred as gas canisters caught fire in the clinic's basement. An investigation has been launched to find out the reasons behind the explosion, authorities have said.
