Bangladesh government will shift the nearly 25,000 Rohingyas, who have taken shelter in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban, to Cox's Bazar, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said today.

"The 25,000 Rohingyas living in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban will be shifted to the allotted 2,000 acres of land in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar," he said.

Quader, also Awami League general secretary, was addressing at a rally after he distributed relief materials among Rohingyas at Tambru Government Primary School in Naikhongchhari.

The minister said there were some disturbances and mismanagements to distribute relief materials among Rohingya people in first steps but now there is no problems to do so after Bangladesh Army joined the action.

The government is trying politically and diplomatically to send back the Rohingyas to Myanmar, he said further.
