Woman raped in Narayanganj, none arrested

A woman was raped while she was searching for her missing husband and sister in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj yesterday, police said.

None was arrested in this connection as of filing this report, according to our local correspondent.

The victim filed a case accusing two men -- Mohsin Biswas (35) and Ramjan Mia (32) -- with Siddhirganj Police Station last night.

Mohsin is a friend of the woman's husband, while Ramjan is an associate of Mohsin, the victim said in the case statement.

The 23-year-old housewife said her husband and sister were missing for one month. So she along with her two-and-half-year-old son went to Shaheb Bazar area to search for them around 8:00pm on September 27.

At that time, she met Mohsin, who told her that he knew the whereabouts of her husband and sister, and took her to an under-construction building.

The accused raped her at the ground-floor of the four-storey building and brought his aide Ramjan who also raped her, the victim said.

Confirming the incident, Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-In-Charge Kamrul Farukh said a drive is on to arrest the rapists.

The woman will be sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for medical test, the OC added.
