Wealth report of Sylhet chairman candidates

Saifuddin Khaled, BNP rebel candidate in Zakiganj upazila, is the richest among all chairman aspirants in six upazilas of the district.
According to the affidavits submitted to Election Commission (EC) by the chairman candidates, Saifuddin Khaled, a businessman by profession, owns Tk 3.85 crore wealth.  He has shown Tk 3.85 lakh annual earnings from business.
AL-backed chairman candidate Lokman Uddin Chowdhury is in the second position. He owns property worth Tk 15 lakh and his annual income is Tk 3.4 lakh. Besides, he has 6 acres of farmland, a building and a house.
In Zaintapur, Jamaat's Zainal Abedin is one of the directors of a number of private limited companies. He owns property worth Tk 1.2 crore and his annual income stands at 7.36 lakh. The Jamaat-backed candidate also owns 2.4 acres of farmland. AL-backed candidate Md Abdullah owns property worth Tk 12.52 lakh and his yearly income is 1.72 lakh.
In Biswanath upazila, AL-supported chairman aspirant Firoze Khan's annual income is Tk 3.35 lakh while he owns property worth Tk 37.95 lakh. He also shares ownership of two buildings, worth Tk 50 lakh. BNP's Sohel Ahmed Chowdhury owns property worth Tk 18.77 lakh while his annual income is Tk 2.02 lakh.
 In Golapganj upazila, AL-backed chairman candidate Iqbal Ahmed Chowdhury has Tk 47.6 lakh assets. He earns Tk 9.61 lakh annually. Jamaat's upazila Ameer Namzul Islam, also a candidate for the post of chairman, possesses property Tk 23.26 lakh while his annual income is Tk 4.85 lakh.
 In Gowainghat, AL's Luthfur Rahman Lebu owns property worth Tk 38.75 lakh while his annual income is Tk 3.86 lakh. Besides, he has co-ownership on 15 acres of farmland and two semi-pucca structures. BNP-backed candidate Abdul Hakim Chowdhury earns Tk 50,000 annually and he owns property worth Tk 9.5 lakh.
 In Companiganj, BNP-backed candidate Shahab uddin's annual income is Tk 20.2 lakh while he owns property worth Tk 46.98 lakh. AL's rebel candidate Jahangir Alam earns Tk 21.39 lakh annually and he owns property worth Tk 16.98 lakh.
