‘Banglar Nani’ indomitable at 90, provides free healthcare in Lalmonirhat

Almost 90 years of age, Lalmonirhat’s Jahiron Bewa or “Banglar Nani” as she is popularly called, continues to provide free healthcare services to rural people in her area.

Frail in frame, yet indomitable, Jahiron clad in a saree, is a familiar sight riding her bicycle from house to house from morning into the afternoon, providing sick villagers across the upazila with healthcare advice.
