Venom 'worth Tk 100cr' seized in Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel arrested a venom smuggler along with cobra snake poison worth Tk 100 crore in Benapole of Jessore Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Milon Kaji, 28, son of Akbor Kaji of Kagmari village under Benapole Port Police Station.
Acting on secret information, a BGB team conducted a drive in Amrakhali area around 9.00pm and seized the privet car of Kaji with 12 pound and two ounces of venom, said Lt Col Mohammed Jahangir, commanding officer of 26 BGB Battalion.
The market price of the cobra poison is Tk 100 crore, our Benapole correspondent reports quoting the BGB official.
The seized venom was handed over to the customs office.
A case was filed with the police station.
