Ujan Ganger Naiya to return next year

Shooting of the second series of drama “Ujan Ganger Naiya” began last week in Cox's Bazar. The drama, produced by BBC Media Action Bangladesh with funds from the UK's Department for International Development, aims at improving maternal and neonatal health in Bangladesh

This new drama will air on BTV early next year. Filled with authentic and powerful characters, “Ujan Ganger Naiya” is expected to have wider reach than the first series -- that reached to more than 30 million viewers. The new series is set in a coastal village and will depict a dramatic story of family life affected by crime, love and the daily struggles of a fishing community, says a press release.

Written by Rafikul Islam Poltu and Shubhashish Sinha, the series is being directed by Bashar Georgis. The cast includes Orchita Sporshia, Riaz, Farhana Mili, Tariq Anam Khan, Shatabdi Wadud, Lutfor Rahman George, Titash Zia and others.
