UAE postpones execution of 3 Bangladeshis

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) temporarily postponed execution of death sentence awarded to three Bangladeshis to allow them time to negotiate with the blood heirs of the victims.

The decision taken as part of provisions to complete the legal formalities regarding the pardon came following the continuous and intensive effort by the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi to get amnesty in this regard, according to a press release of the ministry of foreign affairs.

The UAE authorities scheduled to execute the death sentence of the three convicts --Mohammed Nayeb Ali, Kamrul Islam and Atique Ashraf Hossain-- on January 22 in Sharjah.
