Truck runs over 2 ‘BNP arsonists’ in Jessore

Two suspected arsonists, allegedly activists of BNP, were run over by a truck in Monirumpur upazila of Jessore district this morning.

The deceased were identified as Liton, and Yusuf, both from Monirumpur, our Jessore correspondent reports quoting police.

Police said that they rushed to the spot at Begaritola of the upazila hearing the news and found the two youths lying on the road critically injured.

“A truck hit them when they were waiting there with petrol bombs to carry out an arson attack on vehicles,” said Mollah Kabir Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Monirumpur Police Station.

Police took them to Jessore Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared them dead.
