A truck helper suffered burn injuries as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at his husk-laden vehicle on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mirsarai upazila of Chittagong early today.

The arson attack took place hours before starting the 72-hour nationwide hartal sponsored by BNP-led 20-party alliance amid its nonstop blockade that began from January 6.

Miscreants threw a petrol bomb at the truck when the vehicle reached Bariar Hat around 5:30am, said Nayak Jahangir Alam of the CMCH police outpost.

So far 41 people have been killed and at least 202 persons injured in firebomb attacks during the blockade.
