Italy has banned passengers from Bangladesh and India amid a worsening coronavirus situation.

"Travellers who have stayed or transitioned through Bangladesh in the past 14 days will be prevented from entering Italy," Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Enrico Nunziata told The Daily Star today.

Those who are residents in Italy from before April 25, 2021, however, can enter Italy from Bangladesh but will have to present a negative Covid-19 certificate and be quarantined for 10 days in the facilities decided by the Italian authorities, he said.
