CAAB bans entry of passengers from Nepal

No passenger from Nepal will be allowed to enter Bangladesh from tomorrow, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAb) said today.

CAAB, in a circular, said the decision has been taken in order to curb transmission of coronavirus from the badly-affected neighbour countries. 

However, only Bangladeshi expatriates/citizens who visited (not residing in) Nepal in 15 days prior to travelling to Bangladesh are allowed to enter Dhaka with special approval from the competent authority of Bangladesh.

Operation of regular international flights to and from Dhaka resumed on May 1 after a 17-day recess.

Passengers coming from 26 countries which include Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, Kuwait, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Uruguay will have to complete a mandatory 14 days institutional quarantine at government-nominated hotels at passenger's own expenses.

However, no passengers are allowed to and from 12 countries which include India, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Georgia, Iran, Mongolia, Oman, South Africa and Tunisia.
