Around 50 Bangladeshi citizens -- including several migrant workers -- stranded in Nepal due to the suspension of regular flights, are scheduled to return to Dhaka this afternoon by a special flight.

"Some 50 Bangladeshis, including holiday-makers and migrant workers, are scheduled to reach Bangladesh by a chartered flight of Himalaya Airlines today," Fakhrul Alam, assistant director, Probashi Kalyan Desk at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, told The Daily Star.

He also said the special flight is scheduled to land at Dhaka airport at around 3:00pm.

Regular passenger flights between Dhaka and Kathmandu remain suspended at present due to Covid-19 surge in the Himalayan country, Fakhrul also said.

Shariful Hasan, head of migration programme, Brac, told The Daily Star they will assist the migrant workers if required upon their return to Dhaka.
