Transport leader killed in Comilla

Miscreants reportedly stabbed dead a transport leader at a village in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla early Friday.
Body of the victim, Rezaul Karim, 42, general secretary of Gazaria Transport Owners’ Association, was recovered at his father-in law’s house around 12:15am in Satnandi village of the upazila, reports our Daudkandi correspondent, quoting police.
The body of the victim bore two wounded marks, said Abu Salam Mia, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Model Police Station, hinting that he might be killed by miscreants who later left his body in front of the resident of his father-in law, Abdul Awal, a former ward commissioner of the town.
The victim used to live with his in-law’s there.
Rezaul, hailed from Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj, went out of the house last mid-night and later was found lying outside, quoting victim’s wife Alo Akhter the OC told our correspondent.
The body has been sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said, adding a filing of a case was underway in this regard.
