Feeling ‘confined’ in tight security, President Abdul Hamid today turned a bit nostalgic at his Kamalpur village home in Kishoreganj saying he wants to pass a few days there in a solitary environment.

"I used to roam through villages here alone when I had been here in the past, but now it’s not possible…I am now under the blanket of tight security at Bangabhaban and here. Even though, I am here, it’s not possible to talk to people freely," he said.

The president said this while exchanging greetings with the local people at Muktijoddha Abdul Haque College after his arrival in the Mithamoin upazila from the capital on a three-day visit.

"I want to stay here as I did in the past. I would have felt better had I been able to stay here for 10-15 days, but it’s not possible," he added.

Later, Hamid inspected various development activities of the area. He first visited Tomiza Khatun Model Girls High School and exchanged greetings with the teachers and students of the school.

President Hamid also laid the foundation stone of the Girls Hostel there.

Abdul Hamid also visited Mithamoin Sadar Union Parishad office and the under-construction upazila auditorium.

He also laid the foundation stone of the administrative building of Hazi Tayeb Uddin High School.

Local MP Rezwan Ahmed Taufiq, public administration secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and secretaries to the president office were present.
