Thousands of activists of different units of Awami league and its associate bodies are taking part in the "victory procession" in Dhaka this afternoon, celebrating the country's 52nd Victory Day.

Prior to the rally, a brief programme was held where senior Awami League leaders including its General Secretary Obaidul Quader, presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaq, spoke.

Quader said, "Dear brothers and sisters, the game is on. The game will be played in December ... the game will be played during election, during movement... Communal forces must be stopped. You have to be ready for it."

"Now we have digital Bangladesh, this time we will build a smart Bangladesh," Quader said.

The Daily Star reporter from the spot said after the Awami League leaders finished their speeches, the procession started around 3:45pm.

The Awami League's victory procession will parade roads in Shahbagh, Elephant Road and Mirpur Road before ending at Dhanmondi Rd-32.
