Dengue fever: 3 die, 523 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least three dengue patients died, while 523 were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till this morning.

With the new deaths, a total of 247 people died from dengue fever this year and the total cases now stands at 56,130, of which, 20,325 were recorded outside of Dhaka.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the deaths, 150 were in Dhaka, 25 in Cox's Bazar, 32 in Chattogram, 11 in Barishal, eight in Khulna, six in Mymensingh, five in Rajshahi, two Narail and one each in Narsingdi, Kushtia, Pabna, Bagerhat, Khagrachhari, Bogura, Madaripur and Feni.

A total of 53,954 patients, of them, 19,428 from outside the capital, have already been released from hospitals.

Some 1,929 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment, of which 800 are from outside of Dhaka.
