New cars this week

The official “Jeep Gari” is finally here

After teasing for a year on social media outlets, Toledo motors have finally bought over the Iconic Jeep to Bangladesh. The tough, rugged, go-anywhere off-roader is being offered in two flavours, the two-door Jeep Wrangler and the four-door Wrangler Unlimited. Both models come with the off-road focus Rubicon package, meaning they are factory ready to tackle any tough and rocky terrain. The ruggedness doesn't mean it's barebones though, as the inside is wrapped in leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and an Alpine Premium Audio System connected to a UCONNECT 8.4" Touch screen infotainment system. Power comes from a 2-litre turbocharged inline-four making 270 Hp and 400 Nm of torque, which are big numbers for a four-cylinder. Speaking of big numbers, the top-spec Wrangler is priced at 14,000,000 Tk while the more family-friendly Ultimate is being offered for 15,600,000 Tk. Oh, the joys of local import tax laws….
