Tigers outplay Grenada in warm up match

Bangladesh hauled a 95-run victory against Grenada in the lone warm up match during the Tigers’ West Indies tour at St Andrew's Progress Park yesterday.

Winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim decided to bat first and set a target of 322 runs for the hosts to chase, losing 6 wickets, in the 50-over match.

Opener Tamim Iqbal hammered 91 runs decorated with 12 fours and 2 sixes facing 86 balls, while Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur contributed 78 runs and 44 runs respectively.

Middle-order Shamsur Rahman scored 32 runs and Nasir Hossain remained unbeaten at 22 runs.
Grenada bowler NT Pascal, J Thomas picked up 2 wickets each, while DM George and PAS McSween bagged one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Grenada scored 227 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Veteran Bangladesh pacer Mashrafe Mortaza bagged 3 wickets while seamer Al-Amin Hossain and spinner Abdur Razzak grabbed 2 wickets each.

New bowling sensation Taskin Ahmed picked a wicket.

Bangladesh will play three One Day Internationals, two Tests and a T20 match against West Indies during the tour.

The first ODI will be held at the same stadium on August 20 (Bangladesh time 7:30pm).
